On June 11 & 12 2025, the iVT in Cologne, Germany, takes place. Latest advancements in next-generation industrial and off-highway vehicle technology are presented in the show-hall and also during a dense conference program that complements the fair.
Sequality is part of the iVT-Expo with a talk at the iVT-conference: Stefan Larndorfer serves as a chair during the session „Digitalization and smart machines“ and gives a talk with the title: „Ensuring compliance and efficiency: Software Updates in modern Off-Highway vehicles“.
Modern off-highway vehicles rely on a variety of advanced software systems that are critical for seamless operation. From touch displays to engine control units, GPS navigation and telematics, they all contain software that needs to be updated to ensure these systems remain secure, efficient and compliant with evolving regulatory standards. Regulations like the EU-CRA, NIS2, UNECE R155 and UNECE R156 now place stringent requirements on cyber-security, software management and vehicle updates, making effective update strategies a cornerstone of operational success. The presentation will give an overview of current embedded update technologies and identify important practices for managing software updates.
- Why do we need software updates?
- Overview of EU-CRA/NIS2 and R156/R155 requirements
- Embedded system software update technologies
- How to ensure robust and secure updates
- Fleet management and staging
